Business Licensing
The city does not require business licenses for every type of commerce, but the Fargo Municipal Code does require a city licenses for the business listed below and at left.
The licenses listed below are processed by the Auditor's Office. You can apply for these licenses using our Business/Occupational License Application form (PDF file). You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this form.

Other required licenses
Separate applications are required for the following business and activities:
- Alcohol
- Automotive service station (full or self-service)
- Bulk oil plants
- Dance hall
- Businesses that display sexual devices
