Storefront Grant Program
The City of Fargo has allocated Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to operate a Storefront Rehab program. The intent of this program is to renovate deteriorating buildings and eliminate conditions of "blight" in the downtown area.
Interested property owners may apply for a 50% matching grant, up to $15,000 (depending on available program funding), which can be used to complete the rehabilitation of a building facade. The building must be located in designated areas of downtown Fargo.
Renovations must be reviewed by the Fargo Historic Preservation Commission and must be designed in a way that maintains the historic character of the affected property, consistent with the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Historic Rehab.
