Commissioner Brad Wimmer

Commissioner Brad Wimmer joined the Fargo City Commission in June 2006, after serving eight years as a commissioner for the Fargo Park District. 

The commissioner hopes to continue the success and growth that our city enjoys and feels Fargo has been a great place to call home.   

Professional background:  Commissioner Wimmer is co-owner of two Wimmer’s Diamonds retail stores with his brother, Randy. One store is in downtown Fargo, while the other is in the West Acres Shopping Center.   

Educational background:  Wimmer attended North Dakota State University and Arizona State University; he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) in 1976. His major was elementary education; his minor was mathematics. 

Personal:  Wimmer is a lifelong Fargoan who attended Jefferson Elementary, Agassiz Junior High and Fargo South High. He and his wife, Deb, have been married for 32 years. She is an MSUM graduate who teaches Reading Recovery at Jefferson Elementary in Fargo. 

Hobbies:  The commissioner enjoys tennis, golf, pheasant hunting, biking, walking, waterskiing, sailing and flipping pancakes for the Fargo Kiwanis. He and his wife attend Nativity Catholic Church.
