5th Avenue South Water Main Replacement

Current Status: Updated November 2, 2012

5th and 6th Avenue South from 10th Street to 4th Street is open.

All the underground utilities in phase 1 (5th Avenue South from 10th Street to 7th Street) have been completed. Dakota Underground paved 5th Avenue South from 10th Street to 7th Street.

All underground utilities in phase 2 (6th Avenue South from 7th Street to 4th Street) have been completed.

Dakota Underground paved 6th Avenue South from 7th Street to 4th Street.

All sidewalks and street lights have been installed.

The landscape contractor will finish the grading, seeding and hydro-mulching by the end of the day on Friday, November 2.

A Look Ahead

All work on this project has been completed, except for a couple minor punch list items.

This will be the last Project Status Update, for this project.

Project Scope

Phase 1 (5th Ave South from 10th Street to 7th Street)

Phase 2 (6th Ave South from 7th Street to 4th Street)

Both phases include replacing the aging water main and deteriorated street paving. It also includes new sidewalks, driveways & street lighting (phase 2 only).

Project Schedule and Completion

Project start date: July 9, 2012.
This project has 2 phases. The contractor has 55 days to complete phase 1 and 60 days to complete phase 2.
Substantial completion date: October 26, 2012
