Public meeting process and goals
The goal of a public meeting is to gain specific local knowledge of the street under study, then develop better alternatives for construction. Additionally, the meetings provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about the proposed improvements. The process and goals for these meetings focus on five main categories:
- Soliciting input on proposed construction alternatives and phasing
- Using the public comments to identify issues or areas of concern for each alternative
- Determining if potential problems/impacts can be mitigated/lessened by design revisions.
- Discussing revisions with the public in follow up correspondence and at the public hearing
- Prioritizing and identifying when the selected improvements will need to be constructed
