Drain 53/64th Avenue South Demolition & Earthen Levee

Prior to the spring flood of 2011, the City of Fargo installed a temporary earthen levee around the property located at 3006 64th Ave. S. After the flood, the city acquired the property for flood mitigation.

In an effort to minimize the amount of temporary flood control measures needed to protect properties north of 64th Ave. S. & west of Cass County Drain 53 during future flood events, the City of Fargo demolished the structures and constructed an earthen levee on the south side of 64th Ave. to an elevation of 911' which is approximately river stage 39.5’ + 4.0’ of freeboard as shown on the site plan map.
