Dike removal will begin when the risk of flooding is over and the Red River in Fargo falls below at least 30 feet.

When you register for disaster assistance please have the following available:

  • Social Security Number (yours and spouse)
  • Private insurance information, if available
  • Address and zip code of the damaged property
  • Directions to the damaged home or property
  • Telephone number where FEMA can reach you

Some private property owners who sustain damage from the construction of temporary protection during a flood may be eligible for yard restoration assistance

Inspections and Permits

If your home sustained flood damage, you will be required to obtain an inspection and permit for demolition and reconstruction work. Contact the City of Fargo Inspections Department for more information at 701-241-1561.
