Replace the old battery in your smoke detectors.
Make sure you test the operation of your smoke detectors.
If your smoke detector is over 10 years old, replace it with a new smoke detector.
Do you or your children know what to do in case of a fire? As a family, dedicate 10 minutes to sit down, discuss, and practice your home emergency evacuation plan.
Ensure you have two routes of escape
Make sure everyone knows of the emergency meeting place

Truck Show and Tell at Oak Grove High School
Time 7:20 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Firefighters will conduct an informational show and tell for the teenage CERT program (Community Emergency Response Team) at Oak Grove High School. Firefighters will briefly discuss what the job of a Firefighter is like and showcase some of the specialized equipment we use in our job.
This session, "DISASTER FIRE SUPPRESSION": Briefly covers fire chemistry, hazardous materials, fire hazards, and fire suppression strategies. However, the thrust of this session is the safe use of fire extinguishers, sizing up the situation, controlling utilities, and extinguishing a small fire.

Holiday Lights Parade
Time 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The parade starts at 8th Street and Center Avenue in Moorhead.
Come out and enjoy this kick off to the beginning of this Holiday Season in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Be sure to catch some of the Fargo Firefighters holiday spirit as we will be marching in the parade and passing out candy for all to enjoy! Bring your camera and see the lighting decorations on our ladder truck.

Fargo Firefighters will be conducting rappelling demos throughout the day. Come by our Fargo Fire Department display booth and see what the Fargo Fire Department is all about and the services we provide in our community.

This is an all day event
The Fargo Fire Department wants you!
Come out and see the Firefighters answer the Salvation Army's call. Firefighters will be taking donations and ringing the famous "Salvation Army Bell" at various locations throughout the city.
