Hydrant Flushing
The City of Fargo Fire Department flushes hydrants annually to ensure that they are in proper working order.
When a hydrant is flushed in your area, iron oxide may occasionally become dislodged and cause your water to become rust-colored. If this happens, allow your tap to run for a minute or two and the water should clear up.
Motorists and pedestrians should use caution when approaching an area where hydrant flushing is in progress.
