This elm is a hybrid between Siberian (U. pumila) and Japanese (U. japonica) Elms. Somewhat bushy in appearance when young, but closely resembles a Siberian Elm at maturity. Initial plantings of this tree are found along 10th Street North between 19th Avenue and 28th Avenue. This tree is a fast grower (2'-4' per year when young), does well in heavy clay soils, and has a yellow fall color. High resistance to Dutch Elm Disease.
