Crashed Car Display Request
Deutscher Family Crashed Car Trailer Minimum Criteria
-Request must be made at least two weeks in advance, and no more than two months in advance.
-Borrowers (limited to law enforcement agencies) are responsible for transporting the unit; transportation requires a 1/2 ton vehicle with a Class 3 receiver (capable of towing 6,000-7,000 lbs.) with a 2-5/16” ball. Unit is a tandem axel 16’ enclosed car trailer.
-Borrower must have proof of current insurance to cover damage and/or liability and the Agency Head or their designee must sign an indemnity agreement.
-Unit is for demonstration to approved target audiences only; minimum teaching points provided by the Safe Communities Coalition must be covered.
-Must have space for a 6’ perimeter around the unit.
-Unit cannot be left unattended unless the panels are down and the trailer is fully secured.
-To use the display’s lighting, a UL-approved 20 AMP, 110 volt wall outlet is required.
-Cannot display the crashed car outdoors during inclement weather (i.e. high winds, rain, hail, sleet, snow, etc.)
-The Safe Communities Coalition reserves the right to deny requests or cancel at any time.
-Must review and incorporate talking points provided by the Safe Communities Coalition into presentations.
-Must use the media release template provided by the Safe Communities Coalition if planning to publicize and/or invite the media to see the display.
-Trailer must be WASHED before displaying it.
-Must be attended at all times while car is being displayed.
