23. Childrens Services Media Collections:
Childrens VHS/DVD
Entertainment, instructional, educational and informational videos and videos with local and/or regional interest are included in this collection. DVD is the predominantly collected format at this time.
The fiction video collection primarily contains popular G-rated video titles, including Disney cartoons and series such as Between the Lions.
The nonfiction video collection primarily contains popular educational video series, such as Eyewitness and Magic School Bus.
Childrens Music: Compact Discs
The compact disc collection includes popular and well-reviewed childrens music, sound and miscellaneous recordings.
The library currently purchases material in the compact disc format but will continue to monitor demand for new formats such as MP3 and audio downloads.
Media Kits
Media Kits include an audiocassette and/or compact disc paired with read-a-long picture books, easy readers, curriculum or beginning foreign language readers in a bag. These kits are primarily for children from birth through age eight.
Childrens Audiobooks and Spoken Word Recordings
The Audiobooks and Spoken Word Recordings collection primarily includes unabridged juvenile fiction titles. A small assortment of nonfiction titles is also included within this collection. The collection includes childrens classics, award winners and popular contemporary titles.

Childrens Software
This collection consists of popular and educational CD-ROMs of interest to children, primarily with the rating E for Everyone. Duplication with the Adult Software collection is avoided. The CD-ROMs in this collection are for home use only.
