Order of Agenda
Helen Levitt moved to approve the order of the agenda. Prakash Mathew seconded the motion; the motion carried.
Minutes
Virginia Dambach moved to approve the minutes of May 25, 2004 with additional explanation regarding the library card campaign. Jean Rayl seconded the motion; the motion carried.

Continuing Business
A. Review and Approve 2005 Capital Budget Request
Virginia Dambach moved to approve the 2005 capital budget request. Jean Rayl seconded the motion; the motion carried.
B. Review and Approve 2005 Operating Budget Request
With our continual increase in circulation, we are requesting added staff in addition to self check-out machines in the capital request to accommodate the load on circulation staff. Shelves are very tight even with continual weeding, as a result the materials budget is not increased greatly.
Prakash Mathew moved to approve the 2005 operating budget request. Helen Levitt seconded the motion; the motion carried.
C. Review strategies and approve branch expansion request
The Sullivan School building was occupied when initially looking for a Southpointe location. The building is 22,000 square feet with a gymnasium attached. It is now available and further investigation will be done by the director for future expansion and partnerships in that area.
Helen Levitt moved to approve the 2005 branch expansion budget request. Prakash Mathew seconded the motion; the motion carried.
New Business
A. Approve resolution thanking Virginia Dambach for her years of service on the Board
Thank you, Virginia.
Public Comment
Diane Briggs announced plants were purchased by the Friends of the Fargo Public Library. The flower beds were planned and planted by the Fine Arts Garden Club.
Next Board Meeting
The next board meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
