Minutes of September 2, 2004

Continuing Business
A. Appoint library election campaign committee
Wendy Pace, Bev Quamme, Virginia Dambach, Rynn Pitts, Carlton Henke, Barb Winkelman, Helen Levitt, and Betty Kerns will initially form the committee. Betty Kerns will request Virginia Dambach chair the committee.
Next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. will be the first meeting of the committee.
B. Discuss election strategy
As soon as the committee chair is established, a name should be chosen and a checking account set up. Talking points need to be generated and distributed to people willing to speak.
Herbert Snyder moved pending the successful passing of the referendum; suspend the non-resident fees for the period of which the half cent sales tax is in effect for eighteen months and at which time we will revisit. Prakash M athew seconded the motion; the motion carried.
Helen Levitt moved to delegate powers to the committee to run the campaign and report back to the board. Herbert Snyder seconded the motion; the motion carried.
Charles Pace will contact the city attorney regarding what the staff and board members can and can not do pertaining to the campaign.

The next board meeting will be held September 28, 2004 , at 4:00 p.m.
