Continuing Business
A. Library Director Search, recommendation of search committee
From the pool of 22 applicants, five were chosen to submit a written assignment. From the written assignment, three candidates were chosen to visit Fargo for the interview process. The one day process consisted of a public presentation, 90 minute interview, tours of all library locations, lunch and dinner with the committee and board members.
Looking at the resumes, written assignments, presentations, interviews, and references the search committee recommends Tim Dirks be offered the position of library director.
Herb Snyder moved to accept the recommendation of the search committee to offer the position to Tim Dirks. Rich Zeck seconded the motion. With Gale Chapman, Herb Snyder, Helen Levitt, Suzanne Morrison, and Rich Zeck voting aye and Leo Wilking voting nay, the motion carried.
Suzanne Morrison moved to recommend Daria Bossman as the alternate if the offer is declined. Rich Zeck seconded the motion; the motion carried.
Leo Wilking moved to offer the position to Lynn Stainbrook if the offer is declined by the first two. Herb Snyder seconded the motion; the motion carried.
Next Board Meeting
The next regular Board meeting is scheduled Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. in the City Commission room. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
