Michael Williams called the meeting to order.
Order of Agenda
Herb Snyder moved to approve the order of agenda. Pat Zavoral seconded the motion; motion carried.
Minutes
Herb Snyder moved to approve the minutes of the September 11, 2008 meeting. Tim Dirks seconded the motion; motion carried.
Review of Change Orders
Change Order Proposals for the new Main Library
Richard Moorhead presented a Project Cost Summary, including the outstanding change orders and proposals (attached).
Change orders G-5 (Delete Flag Poles; Revise Storm Sewer - $868.00) and M-5 (Fin Tube Controls; Fin Tube Radiation @ 216 - $3,581.00) were previously approved.
Pat Zavoral made a motion that would allow for processing of the following outstanding change orders, whether pricing is noted or not, that are listed on the Project Cost Summary:
• Delete Aaron Carlson first & second floor millwork desks – ($35,612.00)
• Finger Joint Sticks - $3,570.00
• Blocking for new and existing shelving - $3,315.00
• Display boards at 206 @ 224 – ($148.00)
• Integrity of rated walls - $1,404.00
• Revise east access ramp foundation
• Collapsible rubber water retainer - $207.00
• Add horizontal blinds at Office 206 - $321.00
• Credit for retention of Motorcycle Parking Pad
• Canopy Ventilation
• Exterior Stair Railings
• Chiller Screen Extension - $2,036.00
• Eliminate handrail extensions at Stair No. 3 and Stair No. 2 - $923.00
• City of Fargo Code Review; Add firecaulking and grab bars - $3,930.00
• Revise penthouse plywood sheathing to be fire retardant - $4,978.00
• Fingerjoint ash “sticks” on stair - $3,570.00
• Add GWB soffit between Rooms 220 and 222 - $728.00
• Raise book drop height - $181.00
• Revise woodwork and wood doors from “black” ash to “white” ash - $1,124.00
• Additional Type “P” lighting at Stair No. 1
• Security System Revisions - $7,544.00
• Remote Dimmers for low voltage fixtures - $5,637.12
• Type “EE” Fixture - $3,283.35
• Omit horns & strobes @ Stair 2 & 3 – ($526.18)
• Office 206, 213, Rated chases & Toilet Revisions - $1,764.46
Outstanding Change Orders and Proposals from the Project Cost Summary which were not included in the motion are:
• Brick Ledge - $2861.00
• Relocation of Stair No. 1
• Revise door & sidelights at opening 103E/103F – options of $14,718.00; $18,821.00; $25,756.00
• Horton Operators - $3,538.00
• Door locks at 107A, 107B, &206A - $5,405.00
• Lock credit at 107A, 107B, &206A – ($216.00)
• Parking lot median - $23,793.00
Tim Dirks seconded the motion; motion carried.
Pat Zavoral made a motion that negotiations continue on those proposed change orders that have not been approved. Tim Dirks seconded the motion; motion carried.
Other
The schedule for completion of the main project appears to be on target.
