The Planning Department guides the growth and change of the City of Fargo while maintaining the quality of life of its residents. Its focuses include:

Housing: Resources for homeowners, homebuyers and renters, including downpayment assistance, rehab incentives, fair housing and lead paint information

Downtown Fargo: Renaissance Zone, parking, Storefront/Downtown Rehab Program

Neighborhoods: Neighborhood fact sheets, plans, services and organizations

Land Use Planning:  Land Development Code, Growth Plan and update proposal, Comprehensive Policy Plan, Zoning, LDC updates, Trails and Open Space, Fargo Sign Code

Homelessness: Local statistics, 10 Year Plan to End Long-Term Homelessness

Housing and Community Development:  2013 Community Development Grant Application, Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development, 2012 Action Plan

Historic Preservation:  Historic districts, Fargo history, working with historic buildings

Board and Commissions: Board of Adjustment, Community Development Committee, Historic Preservation Commission, House Moving Board, Human Relations Commission, Parking Commission and Planning Commission
