What is the role of the Planning Commission?
The Planning Commission is enabled by law to hear cases on and make recommendations to the Board of City Commissioners about LDC text amendments, area plans, zoning map amendments, minor subdivisions, major subdivisions, planned unit developments. They also approve, approve with conditions, or deny conditional use permits and institutional master plans. They hear appeals on site plan decisions made by staff and certificates of appropriateness made by the Historical Preservation Commission.
