CDBG/HOME Grants

Local community development efforts are led by the city Planning Department, in association with a host of committed local non-profit, state and federal partners. Much of the community development work is accomplished with the help of CDBG and HOME grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The city's Community Development Committee makes budget recommendations to the City Commission and oversees activities in this area.

Computer Donations

The City of Fargo periodically donates surplus computer equipment to area non-profit organizations. Each computer comes in working order with an NT or Windows 98 operating system.

The City’s Community Development Committee reviews the applications and makes recommendations to the City Commission about who should receive the equipment.  The criteria used to select recipients is based on the impact of nonprofit organizations in the Fargo-Moorhead area.  If you would like to apply for a computer, laptop, or other equipment, please complete the Computer Equipment Application (pdf) and return it to the Planning Department Office, 200 N 3rd Street, Fargo, ND 58102.
