June 2 Public Hearings
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Project
A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2008 at 5:15 p.m. before the Fargo City Commission to consider approval of the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Subdivision plat and zone change from agricultural to SR-4, Single-Dwelling and MR-3, Multi-Dwelling for property located at 2038 76th Ave. S. The subdivision plat contains six lots and two blocks totaling 52.92 acres (more or less). This area is legally known as an unplatted portion of the east half of the northwest quarter, Section 13, Township138 North, Range 49 West.
The applicant, Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, is proposing these changes in order to move forward with plans to build a new facility in south Fargo dedicated to helping at-risk children and their families. The proposed facility includes a private school with gymnasium and dining hall, a chapel, residential treatment center, a safe home, and a possible future adolescent assessment center and childcare center. If the zone change and plat are approved, no additional public hearings are required for the construction of the facility.
