Comprehensive Policy Plan

"Be it further resolved, that the Comprehensive Policy Plan is intended to promote the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community and to be a guide for public and private decision makers to use in the making of decisions which determine the future growth and development of the City."
-August 28, 1995, Fargo City Resolution

The Comprehensive Policy Plan consists of over 80 policy statements which, taken together with identified supporting plans, promote the orderly and desirable development of the city.

Committees that are made up of both public officials and private citizens have created this policy document.  It was last revised in August 1995.  The Comprehensive Policy Plan contains statements on the topics identified in the following list.  You can view the full text of the policy letters online or contact the Planning Department for a full copy of the document.
