Woodhaven was recognized for its use of open space, ponds and trails, as well as the architectural enhancements applied to the Woodhaven Plaza.

2006: North Dakota State University and President Chapman
NDSU was recognized for landscape design and corridor studies.  These impressive landscape and architectural features are located throughout both campuses and include the Horticulture Demonstration and Research Gardens, the entry gate at University and 15th Avenue, the entry gate at University and 12th Avenue, hanging flower baskets, and the plaza at the Downtown Campus. The university was also recognized for its aesthetically pleasing and pedestrian-friendly environment.
