Flood insurance
Homeowners insurance does not cover damages or any loss resulting from a flood. Only flood insurance covers flood loss. You can purchase this insurance only from a state-licensed insurance agent.
Because of city mitigation efforts, FEMA has approved Fargo's participation in the Community Rating System that makes some residents eligible for a 15% premium discount on flood insurance rates. Ask your agent for details.
