Flood Elevation Certificate

During the standard construction permitting process, the city will let applicants know whether they need to obtain an elevation certificate for the permitted property. An elevation certificate is an official form of the National Flood Insurance Program that verifies the elevation data of a structure on a given property relative to the ground level. This information is used in the flood insurance rating process.

The City of Fargo Stormwater Engineering Department maintains an archive of elevation certificates that have been issued by the City of Fargo and those submitted by other legal certificate issuers.
