Let's Eat Local

The Cass Clay Food Systems Initiative (CCFSI). The purpose of CCFSI is to improve all levels of our community food system to assure that residents have access to safe, nutritious, and affordable foods. We aim to improve the production, distribution, sales, and consumption of healthy, locally grown foods within our region. Strengthening the local food system will benefit the health, food security, economy, and environment of our two-state community. The CCFSI seeks community involvement of those with an interest in improving our local food system.

Backyard Chicken Keeping in Fargo
The Fargo City Commission directed the city attorney to work with Fargo Cass Public Health and other city departments to update Article 12-03 and other aligning codes to allow for the keeping of chickens in residential backyards. A draft revision was developed and we welcome input from residents.

If you would like to submit a comment, please use the online comment form. The first reading of the draft ordinance and a public hearing will be held on April 10, 2017 at the Fargo City Commission meeting.
