STD/HIV Testing
Fargo Cass Public Health Clinic offers screening for sexually transmitted diseases and infections, including HIV. Routine screenings include checks for chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis B and HIV. Other screenings offered include high-risk HPV, syphilis and vaginitis.
Test results come back within 10 days. For HIV results, you will need to return to the clinic. For other tests, we contact clients only if the test results are positive.
All of our STD services are confidential and offered without regard to age, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation or ability to pay.
HIV antibody testing is available free of charge at Fargo Cass Public Health Clinic. The North Dakota Department of Health sponsors testing. The HIV antibody test detects the presence of antibodies to the HIV virus by using a simple blood test. This is not a test for AIDS. The test does not tell you if you have AIDS; it does show if you have been infected with the virus which can cause AIDS.
Remember, you are most contagious before you even know you are HIV positive. That is why you must protect yourself and your partner all the time.
