cigsmashedOur Break Away from Nicotine (BAN) program offers you a chance to start a new life free of addiction to tobacco. We understand that quitting smoking takes more than just willpower, and we can give you the help you need to leave nicotine behind forever. This is a free service and our program is based on the proven principles of the Mayo Clinic.   

How it works: our four-step approach

1. 30-minute consultation: First, we meet with you to learn more about you and the challenges you face in breaking away from nicotine. We will ask you to fill out a questionnaire, then we will discuss how ready you are to quit smoking and what help you will need to do so. If you agree, we will set up an appointment to plan your program.
 
2. Treatment plan: We will discuss options for quitting, including nicotine patches, inhalers and pills. Together, we'll set a target date for you to stop smoking. We will discuss how your body deals with nicotine, consult with your doctor, and set up appointments for education sessions designed for your specific needs.
 
3. Education sessions: These sessions will provide you with information to help you quit smoking. Topics include nicotine addiction and withdrawal, triggers for tobacco use, stress management, nutrition, using humor and building your support system. 
 
4. Follow-up: We will follow up with you repeatedly to see how you're doing in your efforts to stop smoking. Even a year after you finish the BAN program, we will check in with you and offer encouragement. 
 
The improvements in your health from quitting smoking continue to increase for 15 years.
