Recycling phone books
Old telephone books are recycled in the spring when the Dex (Qwest) directories are distributed and again in the fall (Nov./Dec.) when the Yellow Book directories are distributed. Look for specially marked containers in the parking lots of area grocery stores, or watch this Web site for announcements of the collection periods.
During the rest of the year, phone books can be brought to the City of Fargo's Solid Waste Office from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Mon.-Fri.) or you can throw them in the garbage. Please do not place them in the magazine or newspaper recycling bins; the thick glue bindings can contaminate the recycling loads.
