To sign up for utility service, which includes water and trash collection, call the City of Fargo Auditor's Office at 241-1324.
City utility services
Your City of Fargo utility bill contains several different charges. Below is the rate information on which each charge is based:
Water: Water is billed at a base rate (dependent on your water meter size) up to 2,000 gallons, then at a rate of $4.20 for each additional 1,000 gallons.
Sewage: Sewage is billed at a flat rate of $18.65 for residential customers.
Garbage: Residential customers will pay $9.00 per month
Storm sewer: The residential rate is $3 per month.
Forestry: The monthly rate is $2.60.
Mosquito control: $1 per month

Paying for services
Checks are accepted when paying by mail, in person, or with our drop box. You can pay in person at the City Payments window on the on the second floor of City Hall at 200 3rd St. N. You can also deposit your payment in the drop box outside City Hall at the southeast corner of the building.
Debit and major credit cards: You can pay in person or call us at 241-1324 to pay with these cards.
Autopay: This offers a convenient way to pay your water bill each month. Simply complete our signup form, and we'll automatically deduct your water payment from your checking or savings account. You will no longer have to remember to pay your bill, and it will always be paid on time.
To sign up, just print and complete the enrollment form and return it to us by mail. The enrollment form includes instructions and complete details about how the automatic bill payment program works. The form is available for printing in PDF form (you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the PDF version).
